Mike Monroe grew up on a farm in southern Michigan.  He enjoyed farming and hunting with his father.  His family would travel to Drummond Island each summer where he spent time walking around the island discovering nature.  As a teenager, he dreamed of traveling when he grew up and used to order travel brochures.  Mike is retired after 37 years. After he retired, he occasionally had stories going through his mind and one day decided to write them down.

When not writing stories, he enjoys traveling, camping, photography, and being in nature.  His love of nature came from walking and exploring their farm and Drummond Island during the summers.  He also spends time working in the garden and doing woodworking.

Mike is married to Diane and lives in Michigan.
